Beginner Turkish 1

The Beginner Turkish 1 course is designed to transition students from the beginning level to the Beginner Turkish 2 level, focusing on four fundamental language skills: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, oral expression, and writing. This course emphasizes proper grammar and vocabulary. By the end, students are expected to:

  • Speak with structural accuracy and sufficient vocabulary.
  • Engage confidently in both informal and formal conversations on practical and social topics.
  • Perform basic personal interactions, such as introducing themselves, asking for and understanding directions, booking accommodations or dining, exchanging phone numbers, making purchases through bargaining, describing health issues, and discussing family members using present and past tenses.

Beginner Turkish 2

This course enables students to advance from Beginner Turkish 1 to the Intermediate 1 level, enhancing the same four basic language skills. By the conclusion of this course, students will:

  • Participate effectively in discussions about future plans, childhood memories, general truths, traditions, and social rules.
  • Use the modal verbs of ability effectively in conversations.

Students will reach a competency level roughly equivalent to Level A2 of the CEFR.


Intermediate Turkish

Our Intermediate courses build upon the foundational skills to further students’ abilities in listening, reading, speaking, and writing, ensuring they can navigate both informal and formal scenarios with enhanced linguistic precision. Students will:

  • Discuss potential and hypothetical events and their consequences.
  • Express wishes and regrets.

The course aims to elevate students to a proficiency comparable to Level B1 of the CEFR.


Advanced Intermediate

This level is tailored to deepen understanding of the language, covering more complex structures and communication scenarios. Students will:

  • Describe scientific processes and narrate historical events.
  • Influence others, report indirect speech, make offers, give advice, and articulate requests.

By the course’s end, students will have achieved a standard broadly equivalent to Level B2 of the CEFR.


Advanced Turkish

Designed for students deeply interested in the Turkish language and culture, this advanced course covers a wide array of topics including grammar, daily news, culture and customs, science, economy, politics, health, law, and literature. Students will engage in:

  • Presentations on global news or literature.
  • Analysis of Turkish films in discussions with the teacher.
